The Sign Authority, Inc., recently fabricated this sandblasted building sign for Governmental Business Systems in Lisle, IL. Governmental Business Systems provides election software apps, voter registration systems, training and support for poll workers and elections. GBS offers pretty much everything and anything the government needs to run a successful election. Their facility in Sycamore, IL was in need of a new building sign that was exactly like their sign at the Lisle facility. Because we had created that sign too, they gave us a call.

The sign was fabricated out of HDU or High-Density Urethane. We offer a variety of other materials to create a sandblasted sign including cedar, redwood and Xtira. Redwood is a great choice if you are looking to show the natural beauty of the wood in your sign design. If you are looking for a material that will stand the test of time and have very little maintenance, the best choice is High Density Urethane or Xtira. They are very dense, heavy substrates that hold up extremely well in punishing conditions. They are also a great material when you want to create a rough stone or pebbled effect, but we can create a wood grain effect as well.

When sandblasting a sign, no matter what material you choose, we need to determine how many colors are going to be on the sign. Each color is individually painted so the more colors you have, the more expensive the sign. We would need a vector file of your logo, which is kind of like a line drawing of your image. We set up the files and send a proof prior to production of the sign. This allows our customer any changes that might need to be made.
